Who is eligible?

Any individual with ASD or learning disability or developmental delay diagnosis. We prefer diagnosis based on the adaptive assessments like Vineland (VABS) method but do accept other assessment tools such as ADI-R, , PL-ADOS, CARS, PEP-R, and ACBC. There is no age limit and currently there is 6 weeks waiting time.

How to get started?

Once you have a diagnosis for your child or already have a diagnosis, fill out this intake form and send us an e-mail at info@autismcentreofcanada.org with this filled form as an attachment. Please leave the phone # and the time you will be available on that #. Our Professional Consultant will call you for the first 20 minutes free consultation to answer some of your priority questions. You can book initial 31/2 hours consult at this stage. The fee structure can be discussed as well. Please note that all the fees need to be paid 10 days before the scheduled consult. A release form will be send to you which you need to sign and return with your payment. On the first visit a detailed parent interview will be conducted and developmental questionnaire along with medical and family history will be completed. After this stage four 2hrs sessions will be conducted with the help of parents for the language and learning needs and socialization challenges. Once this is completed a 5 hrs outreach will be booked where parents and their team of volunteers (we will help you to find ways to recruit them) will receive the training on principles and techniques of ABA. The outline of the individualized program will be discussed. A fortnightly or monthly follow-ups will be scheduled to implement and monitor the program and record the successes and challenges with ongoing modifications. A structured program can be designed on the request of the family by our consultant.

What happens next?

Based on regular evaluations, MDHATM will be modified to accommodate the changing needs of the individual. All forms of feedbacks will be given and parents will be trained to give feedbacks to their team so that program's progress is un-interrupted and does not rely solely on the help from our consultant. The idea is to empower the parents so that in between consultant's visits similar level of intensity and measurability can be exercised to ensure the positive outcomes of the program. A comprehensive training regarding school transition process and collaborative team building will be provided along with help for IEP writing. Those who are already in the school system a help with IEP reviews and training of the teachers (with mutual agreement between parents and school) will be provided. For adults focus will be more on life skills and functionality of the individual in day to day affairs.
